1 C. Rice
2 C. Water
3 Hard boiled eggs
1 Medium onion chopped fine
1 T. Butter
3 Slices white bread broken into course crumbs & moistened in 1/4 C. water
1 Lb. Hamburger
½ t. Monosodium glutmate
½ t. Salt
1/4 t. Pepper
Boil rice in water for 15 minutes in a covered pan. Rinse in warm
water and drain throughly.
Chop the eggs into course pieces so they keep their yellow & white
identity. Fold the eggs into the rice.
Saute the onion in butter until it is transparent, but not brown. Mix
the onion and bread crumbs with the hamburger. Add the MSG, Salt &
Pepper. Flatten the meat mixture on a piece of foil making a circle
about the size of a pie plate. Place the rice,& egg mixture in the
center of the meat circle. Using foil for support , bring up the sides
of the meat until the rice & egg mixture is hidden. Leave a small
opening in the top of the foil for the steam to escape.
Place on a flat pan and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
