Lake Pleasant Regional Park
Phoenix, Arizona

Once again we return to the very first place that we camped as a club. Each time that we visit the management has made improvements to he camping area of the park. The most recent addition is the RV dump station.
The park provides nicely paved roads with fairly level parking spaces. Water and electricity are available at each site.LP07_lake.JPG (17197 bytes)
Most of our friendly group arrived on Wednesday to get setup and meet and greet.
Lots of activities are available. Vic & Ray made their way down to the lake with their fishing poles, but the fish were in no mood to leave the safety of the lake.
Besides the fishing in the lake and plenty of hiking trails there was the chance to visit a woodworking show at a nearby West World Mall.
Some of the campers checked out the areas on both sides of the lake. Even ventured part way out the road to Castle Hot Springs. Note toLP07_Food.JPG (25903 bytes) wanderers: This road is not for the faint of heart. It is in dire need of road maintenance. Quite a rough dirt road.
A couple of evenings camp fires were not permitted due to a valley wide air pollution advisory. On the few nights that we had a fire it was greatly enjoyed by all. One new addition was a device suggested by Bob Vocate of the Rocky Mountain Hi-Lo Club, a piece of copper pipe loaded with a piece of PVC pipe. Creates someLP07_Fire.JPG (16119 bytes) wonderful colors in the campfire.
The men were in charge of the side dishes for this outing. Kudos to all the guys for the great salads and desserts. The ladies also thank them for cleaning up after the meal. Due to an unfortunate incident with their tow vehicle, Spike & Gwen were unable to attend, However, Spike did deliver his famous potato salad for the pot-luck
Vic & Barbara had invited a couple of campers to join our event. Mary & Jean visited our campfire and suggested moving the pot-luck to their camp site for the spectacular view of the lake.
This was a rare camp-out since there was no "eating out". It was such a laid back camp that everyone was quite satisfied to have time for relaxation and conversation.
