Where We Have Been
The 2006 - 2007 Season
June - National
Rally - Branson, Missouri
Branson is a crazy, hilly place. There's more to
do and see than can be done in a month, with shows of all kinds to
please just about everyone.
About 130 HiLos attended this Rally. Large groups came from Ohio,
Illinois, Louisiana, and of course Missouri. The Rally began Monday
evening with a group dinner followed by a Hillbilly Band. Between
their hillbilly songs they interjected local humor and good clean fun.
Some HiLoers dressed in fine hillbilly fashion and vied for prizes for
their costumes. It was a fun evening.
Tuesday was free time to visit, shop and go to shows of our own
choosing. A catered dinner was planned, however someone goofed and the
caterer was nowhere to be found. ABC Campground made quick arrangements
for all 225+ of us at the Golden Corral. Worked out just fine, and we
all got to eat what we wanted. Dinner was
followed by the Hamner-Barber Variety Show, a variety show with music,
magic and ventriloquist. A very entertaining show!
Wednesday was another free day except for a service seminar. Lots of
discussion about hydraulic cable systems and how to adjust them, routine
maintenance, refrigerators etc.
Thursday, we carpooled to the Showboat Branson Belle. Great lunch (more
like dinner) and a marvelous show of dancing, singing, and an emcee who
was wonderfully corny and entertaining.
Future rallies: 2008 will be in the Rochester, NY area, with trips to Niagara Falls, a train museum, canal ride. Sounds like well planned and fun. 2009 the rally will be in Vidalia, LA.
